META Europe: Media competence training invites participants to Spain

University of Education Freiburg, Institute of Media in Education holds another of its series of european training courses focusing on media competence and new technology - META Europe: MEDIA TRAINING ACROSS EUROPE: Speaking out! - Media competence and cultural empowerment.

The training takes place in Algodonales, Spain, lasts from 23rd to 29th April 2014 and is organized as a week course which is divided into 5 units. Each day is dedicated to a different topic including for example improving communication and radio skills, digital and technological skills or learning something about gaining publicity and about management and politics on the media market. The goal is improving overall media competence of participants, who will also learn how to apply these skills, and how to teach them to the people they work with. The course language is English. The event is designed primarily for community media activists, adult educators or youth workers. But others willing to attend are also invited.

The European Community is providing a grant for participation of up to 100% of the costs in the framework of the Grundtvig mobility programme.

The latest date for pre-registering is 1st September 2013. All you need to do is send an application including postal address and contact details, a brief curriculum vitae, a short essay explaining “why I want to join the course” and information about how the newly acquired skills will be used and in what work context. This should be sent to Dr. Traudel Guennel from University of Education in Freiburg - guennel@ph-freiburg.de. If your application is approved, you will be sent a confirmation of pre-registration and detailed information how to apply for the grand. This needs to be done before the 17th September 2013.
